Activités au sein de l'Union européenne

L’Union Européenne (UE) comme médiateur clé dans le processus de paix.

L’Union Européenne est un acteur unique, non seulement en tant que puissance économique et forme politique sans précédent, mais également en tant qu’acteur étant le plus à même d’agir en tant que médiateur dans les conflits qui menacent la paix mondiale au XXIe siècle.

 Notre responsable des relations publiques, Andrea Badiola Mateos, a participé au cours des trois derniers mois à plusieurs conférences au sien de prestigieuses institutions engagées dans la promotion de la paix. Elle y a défendu l’idée que l’UE est un acteur clé au sein des acteurs internationaux ayant la capacité d’intervenir et de proposer des solutions pacifiques, plus particulièrement dans le cadre de la résolution du conflit israélo-palestinien, un conflit qui impacte non seulement la région du Moyen-Orient mais également par extension des parties prenantes mondiales.

Rejoignant les opinions de chercheurs académiques tels que Roger Garaudy ou Pascal Boniface, Andrea Badiola Mateos soutient que la nature structurante de ce conflit pourrait déboucher sur des conflits armés étendus en cas de sous-estimation de son importance. Toutefois, le travail entrepris par notre responsable dans le cadre d’un travail de recherche tend à démontrer que l’UE est un médiateur clé sur cette question. L’objet de ses recherches a été présenté à l’Old Dominion University de Norfolk ainsi qu’à l’Arcadia University de Philadelphie aux Etats-Unis. Andrea Badiola Mateos présentera également lors du vendredi 20 avril au sein de l’auditorium de l’Alliance Française (101, Boulevard Raspail, Paris) un pan de sa recherche dans le cadre d’une conférence intitulée : “The Challenges of a Unique Actor: Where Does European Union Diplomacy Stand on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict?”. Cet évènement est ouvert au public. Une conférence est également prévue à l’Université de Tampere en Finlande en septembre 2012.

En soutenant les travaux d’Andrea Badiola Mateos, l’AEJE promeut la valeur inestimable et le rôle clé que l’UE joue dans les relations internationales. Nous considérons que le partage de valeurs communes au sein d’une Union forte est susceptible de contribuer grandement à la réussite du processus de paix israélo-palestinien et la résolution d’autres conflits internationaux.

THE EUROPEAN UNION AS A KEY MEDIATOR, OUR COMMITMENT TO THE EU

   The European Union is a unique actor, not only as an economic power or a singular political unity without precedent, but as the most suitable mediator in conflicts that threaten world peace in the 21^st century.

Our Manager for Public Relations, Miss Andrea Badiola Mateos, has attended in the last 3 months various conferences in the United States at prestigious (remarkable) institutions committed to peace where she has placed the European Union as a key actor in the international panorama through its capacity to intervene and bring peace to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a conflict that puts on a stake the Middle East and as a consequence, the whole world.

Following the opinions on the matter of scholars such as Roger Garaudy or Pascal Boniface, she claims the vital importance of a conflict that could lead to a third world war if taken to the edge due to the clash of interests. Nevertheless, her work focuses on the European Union as the key mediator in order to bring peace to both, the Israelis and the Palestinians. She is developing a master thesis on this subject, theory that she has been requested to present at Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA) and at Arcadia University (Philadelphia, PA). She will also be this coming Friday at the American Graduate School in Paris presenting the paper “The Challenges of a Unique Actor: Where Does European Union Diplomacy Stand on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict?” of Friday 20^th of April at 15h30 at the Auditorium of Alliance Française in 101, Boulevard Raspail (75006, Paris). This is an open event where anybody interested could attend (see below for further information). Furthermore, she has been invited to the annual ECPR SGEU Conference, which this year will be held in Sabanci University (Tampere, Finland) in September 2012.
